Description
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Manager/Head Golf Pro, the player assistant/starter is knowledgeable in all aspects of Golf Course operations and "excellent" customer service. The player assistant/starter manages the first tee, golf course, and driving range. The player assistant/starter records and relates details verbally and in written form and is able to deal with emergency situations. The H-F Park District's mission statement is "to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment".
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
Greet patrons and guests as they enter and exit the facility.
Must multi-task.
Accurately keep track of golfers
Ensure that the Keep Pace Policy is adhered to by all patrons.
Manage the cart fleet and the driving range facility.
Answers all patrons' questions regarding golf course operations.
Attend all announced staff meetings.
Inform all members and guests of course activities, policies, rules and regulations.
After training, competent in all aspects of golf course outside operations.
Works regular shifts each week. He/she should report to work at least ten minutes before start of shift.
Have a clean, neat appearance at all times. Must wear Course uniform.
Proficient in accident/injury procedure.
Become familiar with park district facilities and activities offered by the park district.
Assist the manager, golf shop staff, starters, pro shop manager, and maintenance crew on tasks necessary.
Address all grievances to the manager or other employees in private.
Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual, Policy & Procedure Handbook and Employee Manual.
Other related job duties as assigned.
COGNITIVE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to make decisions, multi-task, solve problems.
Ability to diffuse angry situations and handle emergencies.
Must be able to relate park district features and policies to patrons.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Efficiently run the operation of the golf course, cart fleet, and driving range at Coyote Run Golf Course.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school graduate.
Background in customer service.
