The Startup Finance Analyst – Venture Capital supports VC investment teams by focusing on the financial evaluation of startups, including unit economics, capitalization structures, runway analysis, and growth projections. Analysts work closely with investors, founders, and internal stakeholders to assess the financial viability and scalability of early-stage businesses.

Analyze financial statements, operating metrics, and unit economics of early-stage startups
Build and maintain financial models, including runway analysis, burn rate forecasting, and valuation scenarios
Support due diligence efforts by reviewing revenue models, cost structures, and growth assumptions
Assist with investment memo preparation and financial sections of investment committee materials
Evaluate capitalization tables, ownership structures, and financing rounds
Track portfolio company KPIs and financial performance metrics
Support market sizing, pricing analysis, and financial components of investment theses
Collaborate with founders to understand financial drivers and fundraising needs
Assist with LP reporting, portfolio summaries, and internal financial dashboards
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or another quantitative discipline
Strong interest in startups, venture capital, and early-stage company finance
Internship or early-career experience in investment banking, venture capital, corporate finance, startup finance, or consulting is a plus
Proficiency in Excel or financial modeling tools; comfort working with incomplete or evolving data
Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication abilities
Comfortable engaging with founders and working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
