This position requires registration as a Professional Engineer under Florida Statute 471 and is responsible for developing and overseeing policies, procedures, standards, and methods for the statewide bridge repair and scour evaluation programs. The role ensures district compliance with federal and state regulations through quality assessment reviews and coordination with District Maintenance Offices on workload allocation and funding for bridge repair and replacement. It also provides technical support to the State Aluminum Structures Shop, conducts inspections of temporary bridge installations, and prepares the department's official deficient bridge list when helping prioritize statewide bridge replacement needs.
