Job Responsibilities
Rapid Response & Readiness
- 40+ hrs/week (Mon–Fri 2pm–11pm + every other weekend)
- Must be ready to take a shift within 15 minutes
- Occasional overnight shifts if needed
Stay Ready: Uniform & ID on, phone charged, childcare arranged, and transportation available
Direct Client Care & Clinical Support
- Deliver hands-on and hands-off care per the client's personalized plan, including:
- Personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)
- Mobility assistance (transfers, range of motion, walking)
- Nutrition and environment (feeding, meal prep, light housekeeping, linen changes)
- Vital signs, intake/output, medication support, and skin care
- Provide transportation to appointments, shopping, and outdoor activities
- Observe and document changes in client condition; report to Director of Nursing
- Uphold infection control standards and ensure a safe and respectful care environment
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and use equipment safely

Administrative Support
- Conduct caregiver introductions and assist with new client intakes
- Support onboarding of new employees and assess field staff competency
- Provide training and education to ensure care meets BrightStar standards
- Participate in performance improvement and client teaching activities
- Assist with scheduling, phone support, and general office operations
- Support BrightStar office operations when not assigned to field shifts
Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree (or actively pursuing)
- Minimum of three (3) years of personal care experience, including at least one (1) year as an HHA
- Preferred: One (1) year experience in a home health agency or healthcare management
- Compliance & Confidentiality
- Ability to handle confidential information and enter into confidentiality agreements
- Ensures security of client medical information and BrightStar office data
- Adheres to BrightStar Care policies, HIPAA regulations, and client rights
- Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and criminal record clearance upon hire and ongoing
- Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent customer service and tactful communication with clients, staff, and community partners
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas clearly in English

- Availability & Health Requirements
- Flexible schedule with availability for on-call coverage as needed within assigned territory and surrounding region
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned territory, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Current CPR certification
- Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray (within past 12 months)
- Up-to-date vaccinations: Influenza, COVID-19, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Rubella, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis B
