STATION MECHANIC- DAY SHIFT

DEPT: MAINTENANCE
SHIFT: MONDAY- SATURDAY 6:30AM-4:30PM
LOCATION: COLD SPRING PLANT
PAY: starts at $27.95 an Hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
- Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
- Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
- Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
- Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
- Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM's) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
- Maintain shop 5s policies and cleanliness
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to pass a Prove It test
- Two years' experience in maintenance field preferred
- Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
- Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed
