Job Title: Stationery EngineerLocation: Jersey City Medical CenterDepartment Name: Plant OperationsReq #: 0000252623Status: HourlyShift: DayPay Range: $33.35 - $33.35 per hourPay Transparency:The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.Job Overview:The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers and related power plant equipment.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years as a Power Plant Operating EngineerOral and written skills; computer literate with the ability to read operating and service manualsCertifications and Licenses Required:New Jersey High Pressure Black Seal SteamScheduling Requirements:Full Time DayRotating Weekends and HolidaysEssential Functions:Ability to work independently and follow repairs through completionAble to use, maintain ATC/BMS systemsAccurately trouble shoots all equipment for repairsAssist in maintaining an accurate inventory and history on all boiler room equipmentAssist in maintaining compliance with Federal and State regulations including annual shut down, cleaning and inspection of boilersCollect data on Boilers, Water treatment, Water temperature and fuel consumptionCompletes required documentation for all work-performedDocumentation completed accurately and legiblyInspect equipment periodically to ensure that safety regulations are compiled and efficient operation are maintainedMaintain an appropriate amount of stock material necessary for the continuation of all repairsMaintain daily record concerning the work that has been completedPerform emergency repairs on boiler equipment and related devicesRespond to temperature control problems in a manner consistent with staff and Patient Satisfaction guidelinesResponsible for the care of the Medical Center's tools and equipmentResponsible for the safety and cleanliness of the work areaEnters work into the work order systemOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
