Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, researches, analyzes and develops analytical models to support our vision to be the insurer of choice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for research, analyzes and development of predictive models in support of our company objectives.
- Collect, organize, and analyze a wide variety of data to support modeling work and to answer business model questions.
- Program for data analysis and data preparation.
- Build predictive and forecasting models and evaluate results.
- Apply a variety of modern analytics (e.g., Generalized Linear Modeling, Data Mining, Predictive Models), to develop/refine class plans and rating algorithms for personal and commercial lines of business.
- Develop reports in R, SAS, SQL, Business Objects or equivalent using internal data warehouses and where possible external data sources.
- Assist in the development and execution of pricing and reserving projects.
- Write reports and create presentations for analytical projects.
- Ad hoc analysis, such as: generating tables, listings, and graphs as required.
- May serve as a contributing member of project team(s), or leader of project teams(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities.
- May provide leadership to junior staff through guidance and training.
- Maintains a high level of proficiency in SQL, R SAS or analytical equivalent, and has strong knowledge of some or all of the following: logistic regression, categorical data analysis, ANOVA, general linear models, generalized linear methods, generalized additive methods, data mining techniques, times series, and statistical pricing models (insurance pricing models preferred).

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
