Statutory Reporting & Data Quality Analyst

The OPPORTUNITY:

Leverage yourexperience and join our growing team as the Statutory Reporting & Data Quality Analyst. This role prepares and coordinates accurate, timely insurance statistical and regulatory reporting while strengthening the quality, control, and governance of the underlying data. This role partners with Finance, Operations, Analytics, Data Governance, and IT to interpret reporting requirements, validate and reconcile data, resolve exceptions, maintain documentation, and support submissions to organizations such as NCCI, ISO, and state regulatory or statistical agencies. The role also monitors data-quality performance and recommends practical improvements to reporting processes, controls, and data assets.Because the success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve, this hybrid role will work in our Raleigh office a minimum of two days with the flexibility to work from home the remaining three days. 

Your WORK as theStatutory Reporting & Data Quality Analystwill make a difference as you:  

• Prepare, validate, reconcile, and coordinate submission of insurance statistical and regulatory reports in accordance with applicable requirements, deadlines, and internal review controls.
• Maintain reporting calendars, data mappings, business rules, data lineage, procedures, and supporting evidence for recurring submissions.
• Investigate data discrepancies, document root causes, and coordinate timely remediation with Finance, Operations, Analytics, Data Governance, and IT partners.
• Monitor data-quality measures and exceptions; communicate trends, risks, and corrective-action status to stakeholders.
• Research and interpret changes in statutory and statistical reporting requirements and translate them into data, process, and control updates.
• Support data governance by maintaining definitions, ownership, quality rules, issue logs, and documentation for critical reporting data elements.
• Respond to audit, regulatory, and internal-review requests by providing accurate documentation, reconciliations, and process explanations.
• Partner with data engineers and system owners to test reporting changes, improve data controls, and enhance the reliability of reporting workflows.

Identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve reporting and data-quality processes while maintaining appropriate controls.

Skills and Experience to Get the Job Done Right:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• 3-5 years of related experience in insurance data, statutory or statistical reporting, data quality, governance, finance, operations, or analytics.Experience with NCCI, ISO, state statistical agents, regulatory submissions, insurance policy and claims data preferred.

• Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel skills, including experience querying and reconciling large datasets.Experience with Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, data-quality tools, or governed data platforms a plus.
• Working knowledge of data-quality management, data governance, controls, documentation, and issue-management practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with close attention to accuracy and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data issues and requirements to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables and collaborate effectively across functions.
