Position Summary:

Work under the general supervision of the Office Manager in the Center for Academic Advising in the College (CAAC). CAAC provides advising and counseling services to approximately 18,000 undergraduate students in the UCLA College. Schedule student appointments with counselors, process petitions, and monitor and enforce College rules. Provide information regarding academic requirements, procedures, and events at an information window, message center, REACH Virtual Drop-ins. and via email This Department support’s UCLA’s FlexWork Program, Hybrid work options, with combined in-person and telecommuting responsibilities, are currently available. Provide administrative support to various counseling committees and full-time staff, and communicate with other offices (e.g. Registrar's Office, Admissions, College Information Services) on behalf of students and CAAC as directed. Prepare for event and program support, student notifications , and written reports (statistical data and narrative evaluations) to the Office Manager, the Directors of CAAC, and the Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Academic Support. Support and help train 3-5part-time time student workers responsible for more routine clerical tasks and covering the office's reception responsibilities as needed.

Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. • 1. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, students, faculty and administrative officers. (Required)

• 7. Ability to communicate professionally one-to-one or on a group basis for the purpose of disseminating information to the public and explaining procedures. (Required)
• 8. Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with persons of differing social, educational, economic and cultural backgrounds. Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty. (Required)
• 9. Skill in using various application programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Adaptability regarding the use of office internal soft ware and web-based applications. Skill with UCLA online systems preferred. (Preferred)
• 10. Ability to make decisions based on established guidelines or policies. (Required)
• 11. Skill in writing / editing materials clearly and accurately. (Required)
• 12. Ability to maintain a regular work schedule, report to work on time, and complete assignments in a timely manner. (Required)
• Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:
• Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (Required)
