Steel Components Assembly Technician & Shop Support

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour

Step into a hands-on role where every day you turn steel parts into finished assemblies. You’ll rotate through different areas of a growing manufacturing shop, learn new processes, and support production from start to finish.

A day in this role

You arrive, gear up with PPE, and review the day’s work orders. You assemble steel components with hand tools and shop equipment, verify quality, and keep materials moving so the line runs smoothly. As priorities shift, you shift with them—helping wherever you’re needed across departments. You end the day with a clean work area, a completed checklist, and a team that knows they can count on you.

What you’ll work on

• Assemble steel parts and subassemblies using hand tools and shop equipment
• Follow documented work instructions and established procedures
• Inspect finished work for fit, finish, and accuracy
• Move and handle steel components and materials throughout the shop
• Pitch in across departments to keep production on track
• Operate assigned tools and equipment safely and correctly
• Adjust to changing priorities and assignments during the shift
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Adhere to all safety protocols and shop rules
• Communicate clearly with leads, supervisors, and teammates
• Assist with additional production or shop tasks as assigned

What helps you succeed

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Assembly or manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Comfort using hand tools and working around shop equipment
• Strong hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Reliable, punctual, and an effective communicator
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction
• Works well independently and in a team setting
• Flexible—ready to move between tasks and departments as needed
• Open to overtime when production demands

Physical demands & environment

• Fast-paced manufacturing shop environment
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, carrying, and repetitive motions
• Regular handling of steel parts, tools, and equipment
• Safely lift and move up to 50 lbs
• PPE worn as required
• Overtime may be required based on production needs
