Steel Estimator
Location: Ponder, TX (On-Site)
A well-established commercial steel contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to support a growing backlog of structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. The role involves preparing estimates for commercial projects, including structural and ornamental steel scopes exceeding $1 million.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing drawings, developing competitive estimates, and collaborating with operations teams to successfully transition awarded projects.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and ornamental steel projects.
Review architectural and structural plans and specifications.
Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations.
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
Prepare change order pricing and value engineering proposals.
Coordinate with project management and fabrication teams during project turnover.
Manage multiple estimates while meeting bid deadlines.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience within structural steel, miscellaneous metals, ornamental metals, or commercial steel fabrication.
Experience estimating projects valued at $1 million or greater.
Strong blueprint reading and quantity takeoff skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
