Our client is a well-established structural steel fabrication company that supports commercial and industrial construction projects throughout Texas. They are seeking a hands-on Shop Operations / Maintenance Manager to oversee daily fabrication shop operations while ensuring all production equipment is maintained for maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined leader who enjoys working on the production floor, improving processes, mentoring employees, and keeping a fabrication operation running at peak performance.

Job Details

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience managing maintenance operations within a structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication equipment, machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience leading shop personnel in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Computer proficiency with maintenance documentation and reporting.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Experience with welding, machining, fabrication equipment, and industrial maintenance.
• Familiarity with inventory control and maintenance management systems.
• Experience using Strumis software is highly preferred.
• Previous experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have experience managing both people and equipment in a structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment and understands how maintenance directly impacts production efficiency, quality, and profitability.
