Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Steel Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with 3–5 years of project management experience in the structural and miscellaneous steel industry who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys managing projects from start to finish.

The Steel Project Manager will oversee multiple projects through planning, fabrication, coordination, and installation while working closely with contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position is primarily office-based, with approximately 90% of time spent in the office and occasional travel to job sites and meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines
  • Coordinate structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection activities
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks or delays
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality requirements
  • Communicate project updates effectively with clients, field teams, and leadership
  • Resolve project issues quickly and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
  • Support project closeout activities and final deliverables

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in structural or miscellaneous steel construction
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of building codes and construction regulations
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling)
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based role (approximately 90% in-office)
  • Occasional travel to job sites, client meetings, and project locations
