Description:
Set-up, run, and take-down the SUU Mobile Planetarium at local elementary and middle schools
Learn and present scripted planetarium shows to elementary and middle school audiences
Help plan, communicate, market, oversee, and manage event details for Family "STEM in the Field" Events, and the Southern Utah Science and Engineering Fair
Occasionally assist with other on-campus STEM events including field trips, Wonder Wednesday, and Toddler Tuesday
Positions available for work-study and non work-study students
Additional Information: Ideal candidate will have a 4+ hour block of time either in the morning or afternoon on Wednesday or Thursday to help with the planetarium shows at local elementary schools, most Thursday evenings (5-9 pm) required at events, as well as the third Wednesday of every month from 4-6 pm. Please include a cover letter, resume, AND school schedule for Fall Semester.
Qualifications:
Some astronomy experience preferred, but not required
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Google Workspace
Must be able to pass a background check through ICSD
Dependability and punctuality a must
Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs
Must have a valid driver's license and transportation to travel to work locations at Elementary schools in Cedar City and Enoch
