Minimum Qualifications:
All applicants must possess a valid PA teaching certificate in one of the following areas; Elementary PreK-4, K-6, Grades 4-8 (Math or Science), Technology Education PK-12; a STEM endorsement is preferred, not required; knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices; ability to engage students actively in the learning process; and interact effectively with students, staff and parents; excellent oral and written communication, organizational and computer skills; and a desire to work in an urban school district is preferred.
Job Summary:
The STEM teacher implements a flexible secondary STEM instructional program that provides an integrative approach to learning and a class environment favorable to academic and personal growth; establishes appropriate and effective rapport with students; motivates students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, in accordance with each student's ability; and establishs appropriate, effective relationships with parents and with other staff members.
This position may be assigned to support other elementary buildings.
