Job Summary

Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, early-childhood expert to lead our Step Up to Kindergarten bridge program. This vital program helps incoming kindergarteners build the social-emotional and foundational academic skills necessary for a confident start to their elementary career. You will create a "Kindergarten Preview" experience that balances play-based discovery with the structure of a formal school day. Hours: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Key Responsibilities Transition Coaching: Introduce students to essential school routines, such as lining up, carpet time expectations, following multi-step directions, and navigating school facilities. Social-Emotional Development: Lead activities that focus on sharing, collaborative play, emotional regulation, and making new friends. Foundational Literacy & Numeracy: Facilitate "light-touch" academic exposure, including letter recognition, phonemic awareness games, and early number sense. Fine Motor Skills: Design daily "maker" or art activities to strengthen pencil grip, scissor skills, and task stamina. Family Partnership: Act as a warm ambassador for BSD, providing parents with feedback on their child's readiness and tips for a successful first week of school in the fall.
