Will be required to get certified in the use of the Museum's Work Assist Vehicle (WAV) upon hiring.

Ability to lift and move 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Shift

1st shift Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM.

Job Summary

The William S. Webb Museum of Anthropology and Office of State Archaeology seeks a temporary Museum Project Assistant to assist with reorganizing museum storage and laboratory spaces.

Duties include:

Assembling shelving

Relocating cabinets and equipment

Moving archaeological collections and museum materials

Assisting with facility improvement projects

The position requires physical work, attention to detail, and the ability to safely handle museum artifacts and operate basic tools and equipment.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use hand and basic power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle fragile materials with care.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and operate the Museum's Work Assist Vehicle (WAV).

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience

Experience assembling shelving or furniture, using hand and power tools, warehouse or moving experience, or experience handling museum collections or other fragile materials preferred.
