As a Sterile Processing Technician at MercyOne, you will furnish sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

Schedule:

  • 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week)

  • Day Shift (8-hour shift length)

General Requirements:

  • Decontaminates dirty equipment and supplies.

  • Prepares non-sterile portable equipment and supplies for use.

  • Instrument assembly

  • Distributes and stores sterile supplies

  • MercyOne Cedar Falls - Transports Patients.

  • Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Education:

  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience working with surgical instruments and assisting in patient care preferred.

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instruments and sterilization principles.

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
