PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence-recognized surgeons, imaging, and primary and specialty care. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring that all reusable supplies, such as instruments, equipment, linen, and surgical supplies, are properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and distributed. This position includes cleaning and disinfecting the Operating Room or procedural area between patients throughout the day. It includes the reprocessing of instruments in the Operating Room environment utilizing immediate use steam sterilization or per-acetic acid and maintaining the standards of reprocessing at the level utilized in the Central Processing Department, when possible. The incumbent acts as a resource for the Operating Room staff and all other departments within the hospital. QualificationsJob Requirements:High School Diploma or GED.Certification by HSPA required within 18 months of hire.Preferred Job Requirements:Previous hospital experience.Knowledge of medical terminology.
