    Schedule: PRN | Approximately 1–2 days per week

    Shift Availability: Monday–Friday, with shift times generally falling between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Hours may vary based on OR case volume and facility needs.

Join OrthoVirginia as a PRN Sterile Processing Technician, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our orthopedic surgical team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking part-time hours (typically 1–2 days per week) while making a meaningful impact on patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery environment.

    In this role, you'll ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and available for procedures. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help our surgeons and clinical teams deliver exceptional care every day.

    What You'll Do

    • Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment using industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
    • Prepare, organize, and stage surgical instrument trays and case carts for scheduled procedures.
    • Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, and other sterile processing equipment while monitoring quality indicators and biological testing.
    • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, damage, and proper assembly before sterilization.
    • Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
    • Monitor inventory levels of surgical instruments and sterile supplies to ensure readiness for patient care.
    • Perform routine inspections of sterile inventory, ensuring package integrity and compliance with expiration requirements.
    • Maintain preference cards and instrument inventory to support efficient surgical workflows.
    • Transport sterile instruments and supplies to operating and procedure rooms.
    • Follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining a clean, organized sterile processing department.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Compensation Range for this position:

    $20.29 - $30.43

    Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
