Join Our Team as a Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) - Surgical Services
Are you an experienced Sterile Processing Technician eager to make a difference in a dynamic, high-volume trauma facility? We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team on the third shift at a premier healthcare institution. This critical role ensures the safety and readiness of surgical instruments and equipment, directly supporting patient care excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination of all surgical instruments, including drills, DaVinci devices, and scopes.
- Assemble instruments across multiple service lines such as trauma, loaners, and peel packaging.
- Execute sterilization processes utilizing both sterilizer (sterrad) and steam methods.
- Handle high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing.
- Manage sterile storage and inventory.
- Serve as an OR liaison to facilitate smooth communication and operations.
- Utilize the Censitrac tracking system for effective documentation.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant standards and certifications.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sterile processing within a busy, trauma-level facility.
- Proficiency in decontamination, sterilization (sterrad and steam), and scope reprocessing.
- Experience with HLD and Censitrac or similar tracking systems.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, including drills and DaVinci devices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to float to different locations as needed.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Certification through CBSPD or CRCST (via HSPA/IAHCSMM).
- Experience working with Censitrac or comparable tracking software.
- Familiarity with OR operations and liaison functions.
- Knowledge of sterilization and infection control standards.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certification in sterile processing (CBSPD or CRCST) is preferred but not mandatory.
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience in a Level One trauma or similarly busy healthcare environment.
Other Requirements:
- Availability for third shift hours (7:00 PM 3:30 AM), including occasional holidays.
- Potential to float to various facility locations as needed.
- Valid certification or licensure in sterile processing.
- Willingness to comply with hospital policies and safety standards.
Hourly Rate: $32.88
