Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you play a role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. You are responsible for meticulously cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments. Furthermore, you are instrumental in providing all necessary instruments for surgery and other hospital departments. Your dedication and attention to detail are vital in delivering the highest standard of care.
Sterile Processing Technician
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and storage of instrumentation for surgery and outside departments.
What you will do in this role:
• Prepare instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing, and storing procedures. • Understand principles of sterilization techniques and operate sterilization equipment. • Assemble all instruments trays and drill drays for operating rooms according to policies and procedures. • Perform equipment distribution and routing, cleaning, and maintenance. • Perform crash cart restocking and exchange. • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
What qualifications you will need:
• Certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD required or Certified Surgical Tech. • Experience preferred but not required.

The facility is the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County and a Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Birth Center at TriStar Hendersonville features Sumner Countys only Level II NICU services, which hosts spacious LDRP suites and a lactation boutique for inpatient and outpatient services.
