    Description

    Sterile Processing Technician at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This position is Per Diem and will work 8-hour, Variable shifts.

    Under general supervision, performs standardized and progressively complex sterile processing functions to support safe patient care. Reprocesses reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation for use in the Operating Room and other clinical departments by cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing, and distributing items in accordance with facility policies, manufacturers'' Instructions for Use (IFU), and applicable standards and guidelines (AAMI, CDC, The Joint Commission, OSHA). Operates sterilization and reprocessing equipment as assigned and accurately completes required documentation within instrument tracking and sterility assurance systems to support traceability, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Performs related duties as assigned within the scope of classification.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Or
    • Within 1 year of hire National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
    • 1 year of Instrumentation/sterilization in an acute hospital.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Coursework/Training: Training course in Sterile Processing.

    Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate''s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
