Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Location: Portland, OR
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Night Shift – 5x8 Hour Shifts | Friday – Tuesday
Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a night shift assignment at a short-term acute care facility in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures, instrumentation handling, and infection prevention standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities:
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Inspect instruments and trays for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness
• Prepare and distribute sterile supplies for surgical and procedural areas
• Operate sterilization equipment according to hospital and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate documentation within Epic and department tracking systems
• Follow infection control and patient safety protocols at all times
• Collaborate with surgical services and clinical teams to support procedural needs
Requirements:
• Previous Sterile Processing Technician experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures and infection prevention standards required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment required
Preferred:
• Experience using SPM systems preferred
• Experience with robotic instrumentation preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
