Steward Job Responsibilities and Duties
Works closely with Executive Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining the sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glasses • Washing dirty dishes and putting them back in their appropriate areas • Assisting with sweeping, mopping and polishing the restaurant, bar, kitchen and equipment • Stocking wait staff stations with napkins, utensils, trays and condiments, and assisting the wait staff with all aspects of service
Steward Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
A friendly, polite, and courteous nature
Strong customer service and team player skills
Must be current with Food Handlers' certification
Works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Great communication and coordination skills
Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends and holidays
Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet
