This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a versatile Data Scientist / Power Platform Developer who will blend advanced analytics with low‑code automation to support business operations and decision‑making. This role uses data modeling, machine learning, and Microsoft Power Platform solutions to deliver insights, automate workflows, and create scalable applications for stakeholders across the organization.

This requisition supports hiring at multiple experience levels. Final placement will be determined based on the selected applicant's qualifications, experience, and skill sets.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets from various sources
• Develop, validate, and refine predictive models and machine‑learning algorithms
• Build dashboards, visualizations, and reports that communicate insights to leadership
• Conduct statistical analysis, design experiments, and evaluate model performance
• Partner with business units to identify data‑driven opportunities or pain points
• Deploy models into production and maintain ongoing monitoring of performance
• Translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable recommendations
• Design, build, and maintain Power Apps to support business processes and user needs
• Create automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline operations and reduce manual effort
• Develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI
• Integrate applications with data sources (Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, APIs)
• Implement governance, security roles, and best practices for Power Platform environments
• Troubleshoot app issues, optimize performance, and support end users
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prototype solutions quickly
• Document system configurations, workflows, and development standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in realted field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with Python or R for data modeling, machine learning, and data manipulation
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Proficiency building solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Experience with data visualization and reporting strategies
• Ability to integrate business requirements into practical analytical or automation solutions
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking
• Excellent communication skills-able to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences
• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher

Preferred Requirements

• Clearance: Posses and maintains a Top Secret clearance.
