This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. With data fusion and mission management capabilities for the Department of Defense, the combatant commands and the intelligence community, HII advances the mission around the globe.

Job Description

The Economic Analyst provides research, analysis, and strategic insights to support national security programs and senior‑level decision‑makers. This role blends economic research, emerging technology awareness, and geopolitical understanding to assess market dynamics, identify strategic risks, and support organizational planning across defense and government stakeholders.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic and market analysis using open‑source and proprietary intelligence to identify trends, risks, and potential impacts on mission and strategic objectives.
  • Develop clear, executive‑ready research products that translate complex economic, technical, and geopolitical information into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of global markets and deliver timely updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional government and interagency partners to support broader efforts related to emerging technologies, economic activities, and competitive dynamics.
  • Present economic assessments, market overviews, and analytic findings to internal and external stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience in economic research, data analysis, or market assessment
  • Strong analytical abilities and a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience supporting DoD or national security customers
  • Background in strategic analysis, technology‑related markets, or geopolitical economics
  • Experience working with interagency or cross‑functional tea
  • Clearance: Posses and maintains a TS/SCI clearance
