Stipend - MTEL Preparation Teacher (HR) (Internal Only) (SY26-27)

INTERNAL ONLY - MTEL Preparation Teacher (2 Positions)

Reports to: Rasheeda Abdul-Musawwirr, Assistant Director of Human Resources

Duration: 2026-2027 School Year

Position Overview

The MTEL Preparation Teacher will support Teacher Pathway Program participants in preparing for and successfully completing required Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) exams. The teacher will provide targeted instruction, study strategies, resources, and individualized support based on candidates' needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate MTEL preparation sessions.
• Provide instruction, study strategies, and resources aligned to MTEL exams.
• Help candidates identify areas of need and develop individualized preparation plans.
• Provide practice activities, feedback, and coaching to support exam readiness.
• Monitor participant progress and communicate support needs to the Assistant Manager.
• Collaborate with the Educator Development and Pathways team.
• Attend scheduled meetings and complete other duties as assigned.
• See calendar dates (dates can be adjusted)

Qualifications

• Experienced Chelsea Public Schools teacher with knowledge of Massachusetts educator licensure and the MTEL process.
• Possess a DESE Teacher License
• Experience supporting students or adult learners with assessment preparation.
• Strong understanding of MTEL content, structure, and test-taking strategies.
• Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
• Passionate about supporting aspiring educators and adult learners.
• Experience with the New Teacher Academy and/or Teacher Pathway Program is a plus.

Compensation: CTU contractual rate.
