Description of Work The NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The Department employs approximately 2,000 employees.
The Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional wellbeing of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA Foods to eligible Recipient Agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA.
Duties involve loading and unloading USDA Foods in a Food Distribution Warehouse. This position is responsible for the clerical duties associated with loading and unloading USDA Foods. Duties also include maintaining a clean warehouse and equipment, following proper storage practices, conducting accurate monthly inventory counts, and working in a freezer and cooler for an extended period of time.
