GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

The Stock Clerk performs warehouse operations in support of the USMC MEDLOG (Medical Logistics) program. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other warehouse items. The Stock Clerk is also responsible for maintaining records and compiling the stock reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the warehouse.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse or other areas.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisor.
  • Receive and count stock items and record data manually or on computer.
  • Mark stock items using electric marking tools or other labeling equipment.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Maintain records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, and shipments.
  • Compile, review and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, and other documents to assess supply needs.
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a related field.
  • Must maintain a forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the warehousing field.
  • Knowledge of or experience in medical supply handling, logistics, or regulated environments, i.e. MEDLOG is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic data analysis.
  • Must have a working knowledge of and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment.
