Purpose

The Retail Stock Manager II at Pittsburgh International Airport oversees stock operations for high‑volume retail environments generating $20-60 million in annual sales. This role manages all inventory control functions, vendor coordination, merchandise flow, and regulatory compliance while providing leadership across multi‑unit retail, restaurant, and duty‑free operations. The position drives operational excellence, leads stock teams, and ensures accuracy, efficiency, and safety across all stock processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage receiving, inventory control, stock accuracy, and merchandise flow to support sales targets and minimize shrink.

  • Maintain perpetual inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, investigations, and corrective action implementation.

  • Manage multiple vendor relationships, delivery schedules, freight coordination, and resolution of shortages, damages, or quality concerns.

  • Oversee stock processes across retail, restaurant, and duty‑free locations, adapting procedures to unique business needs.

  • Monitor KPIs including inbound throughput, labor utilization, cycle count accuracy, stock levels, and operational productivity.

  • Oversee reverse logistics, including vendor returns, store returns, and distribution center contingency plans.

  • Develop, update, and enforce stockroom operational procedures and standards to ensure consistent execution across all shifts.

  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate stock team members; administer corrective actions and performance management as required.

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, FDA, HACCP, and bonded warehouse requirements, including documentation, inspections, and background check eligibility.

  • Maintain food safety standards including FIFO rotation, temperature control, expiration monitoring, and sanitation guidelines.

  • Review system data using SAP, CrunchTime, and other inventory management systems to assess trends and optimize performance.

  • Coordinate with merchandising and sales teams regarding seasonal transitions, new product launches, planograms, promotions, and replenishment.

  • Conduct safety and quality audits to ensure stockroom cleanliness, organization, and adherence to regulations.

  • Plan and lead annual physical inventory processes, coordinate with external auditors, and drive reconciliation efforts.

  • Collaborate with airport management and zone leadership to maintain operational alignment and meet business expectations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum combination of 4+ years in stock operations, supply chain, or inventory management.

  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience managing stock teams in a retail environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with SAP, CrunchTime, or similar WMS / inventory systems (SAP WMS preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures, stockroom operations, logistics, and vendor management.

  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs, FDA, and HACCP compliance requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk or stand for extended periods throughout warehouses and retail spaces.

  • Lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Use visual acuity to review inventory reports, conduct stock counts, and analyze data.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced retail stockroom and back-of-house environments; variable temperature and noise levels. PPE as required (safety shoes, gloves, high-visibility apparel).
