Stock/Materials Associate Temp to Perm Canton Ma

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for all material receipt activities to include initial inspection, documentation, notification, stocking of the material and disbursement to floor.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive materials from incoming vendors
  • Conduct initial visual inspection of incoming material to verify Packing Slip quantity/description and condition of material (use the company PO to verify material information).
  • Provide Purchasing Department with packing lists from daily material deliveries and immediately report any discrepancies to the Purchasing Department.
  • Remove incoming materials by use of the hand-truck or fork-truck and move material to designated holding/storage areas.
  • Place tags or copies of the PO on large or bulk palletized material indicating PEC part numbers and/or PEC job numbers.
  • Maintain and update the Missing Parts report.
  • Responsible for weekly cycle counts.
  • Notify the appropriate department of new bulk deliveries or "Hot items” as designated by a request from Production or from the "Missing Parts” Report.
  • Responsible for managing the use of yellow sheet material return forms in conjunction with Production, QA, Engineering and Purchasing Department.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Purchasing if the Bill of Material used to pull parts is not correct.
  • Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and organization of the stock room, mezzanine, outside storage facility and other locations as directed; tracking material for issue upon arrival.
  • Communicate with other PEC personnel as necessary for any material/parts issued or shortages to the Production and Purchasing departments.
  • Prepare/pack material for shipping/pick-up for vendors/customers.
  • Conducts deliveries and pick-up of parts/material at various vendors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION
  • High School diploma

EXPERIENCE
  • 2-3 years in shipping/receiving environment

SKILLS
  • Inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate with outside contractors/vendors
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to input and research data in the company purchasing system


EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
  • Company vehicles and fork-truck
  • Overhead cranes
  • Computers

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must lift in excess of 50lbs at times
  • Must perform duties while standing most of the day
