Responsibilities:
- Conduct oneself in a courteous manner with visitors and employees. Identify self by name clearly and concisely when requested.
- Respond to inquiries politely and promptly. Refer matters outside the scope of own duties to appropriate others as necessary.
- Pick orders and load skids or hand trucks with merchandise for delivery to departments. Deliver shipments to appropriate departments according to schedule and obtain appropriate signature as required.
- Rotate stock appropriately while checking product expiration dates.
- Verify delivery tickets against supplies received and notify the immediate supervisor of any discrepancies.
- Receive items or merchandise from departments or outside vendors and examine packages for discrepancies. Notify the supervisor if concealed damage or other irregularities exist.
- Instruct departments when needed regarding proper procedures to prevent breakage or damage. Inspect and repack when necessary and prepare necessary labels, packing slips, and signatures as required.
- Organize and follow through on departmental returns, ensuring credit paperwork is filled out correctly and items are sent back to the warehouse in a timely manner.
- Operate hydraulic lift to move, stack, or store skids of case goods. Operate cardboard bailer.
- Assist in periodic cycle inventory count to monitor the flow of materials through the department.
- Utilize computer systems and handheld devices to input or retrieve information when needed.
- May be required to work at any network Hospital when needed as assigned to General Stores.
- If assigned to General Stores, make outside deliveries when necessary and drive vehicle in accordance with State, City, and Hospital rules and regulations.
- Perform various housekeeping duties, i.e., sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning shelves, shifting stock, removing empty cartons, wrapping and packing materials, etc.
- Comply with departmental safety standards.
- Answer the telephone in the absence of office personnel.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: HS Diploma/GED
- Ability to lift 50lbs, push/pull carts
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to wear safety toe boots
