Overview:

The Stock Technician receives clinical and administrative supplies and patient samples info the Laboratory. Delivers patient samples and supplies to departments. Monitors purchase order activity for all Rocky Point Lab departments and accurately completes data entry into Peoplesoft purchasing system to document receipt of goods.

 

Skills or Knowledge:

 

  Lab supply knowledge (reagents, PPE, equipment)

  Organization and record-keeping

  Inventory/Purchasing software and basic Excel  (Peoplesoft a plus)

  Receiving and inspecting shipments

  Storage management (temperature, sterile conditions)

  Attention to detail and accuracy

  Lab safety and biohazard handling knowledge

  Good Communication and teamwork

 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for:

  • Ensuring the accurate receipt, handling, and distribution of all clinical supplies and patient samples. 
  • Managing purchasing activity,
  • Maintaining precise data entry in Peoplesoft, and
  • Coordinating loading dock operations, this position safeguards workflow efficiency and supports uninterrupted patient care for both UF Health and Path labs. 
Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be organized and able to work independently and efficiently. Must be able to recognize problems and obtain counsel from senior staff. Job requires handling of heavy containers, including lifting and reaching. Previous personal computer experience with Excel Spreadsheets and PeopleSoft Purchasing applications preferred.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
