Purpose

The Manager - Storeroom Operations & MRO Procurement is responsible for leading the modernization and transformation of the plant's ~$20 million storeroom operation, including inventory management, receiving and issuing operations, and MRO/supplies procurement. This role provides leadership for the storeroom team while driving improvements in inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, inventory optimization, technology, and procurement processes. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and Procurement, this position is responsible for improving material availability, reducing waste, lowering total cost, and building a best-in-class storeroom operation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead all storeroom, receiving, issuing, and inventory control operations.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and transaction discipline.
  • Reduce obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory while optimizing working capital.
  • Modernize storeroom operations through barcode technology, ERP improvements, standardized processes, and visual management.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for receiving, issuing, inventory control, and material handling.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to standardize parts, improve material availability, and eliminate waste.
  • Identify and execute MRO cost savings through sourcing, supplier management, inventory optimization, and consumption reduction.
  • Develop KPIs for inventory accuracy, service levels, productivity, inventory value, and cost savings.
  • Lead, coach, and develop storeroom personnel while ensuring compliance with safety and 6S standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 7+ years in manufacturing, MRO inventory, procurement, or warehouse operations. Experience leading process improvement, ERP systems (Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle, etc.), and cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and continuous improvement skills.
