Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Storage & Backup Enterprise Services Architect to design and lead customer-facing hybrid cloud and managed services environments. This is a senior, hands-on architecture role focused on enterprise storage, backup, Azure, and MSP-style multi-tenant platforms.

This position operates within a 24x7x365 managed services organization. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for maintenance or major incidents.

This role requires deep Dell storage expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Managed Services Leadership

• Define and own customer-facing hybrid cloud architectures for Azure-based managed services.

• Design and evolve multi-tenant platforms supporting multiple enterprise customers.

• Ensure architectures align with SLAs, SLOs, and support models.

• Establish architecture, security, and operational standards across customer environments.

Hands-On Technical Leadership

• Remain hands-on with enterprise storage and backup systems in production.

• Serve as the highest escalation point for complex customer issues.

• Architect resilient platforms with strong monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.

Customer Engagement & Advisory

• Act as a technical lead and trusted advisor to enterprise customers.

• Lead architecture reviews, workshops, and Quarterly Business Reviews.

• Translate business requirements into secure, supportable cloud architectures.

• Support presales activities including solution design, scoping, and risk assessment.

• Guide customers through cloud adoption, modernization, and hybrid integration.

Operations & Reliability

• Provide architectural leadership for 24x7 managed service operations.

• Lead major incident response and post-incident reviews.

• Drive reliability, performance, and cost optimization improvements.

• Ensure operational readiness for new customer onboardings.

Mentorship & Influence

• Mentor senior engineers and architects.

• Influence technical strategy, tooling, and service offerings.

• Evaluate new Azure technologies and services.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 15+ years of enterprise storage and backup engineering/administration.

• 5+ years designing and operating Microsoft Azure environments.

• Deep hands-on experience with enterprise storage and backup in production.

• Strong Dell storage and backup platform experience (required).

• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery processes.

• Experience working in customer-facing or consulting environments.

Certifications

• Certification in at least one backup/data protection platform (Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault, Druva, etc.).

• Dell EMC Enterprise Storage certification.

• Azure Solutions Architect certification.

Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering managed services in SLA-driven environments.

• Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud, networking, identity, and security.

• Cisco infrastructure experience.

• Experience supporting 24x7 operations and incident response.

• Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes / AKS).

• Additional Azure certifications (Security Engineer, DevOps Engineer).

• MSP or consulting background supporting multiple enterprise customers.

• Familiarity with ITIL, SRE, or service management frameworks.

• Experience in regulated or high-availability environments.

• Cloud migration and modernization experience.
