Job Purpose: The Store Cashier at GOODWILL INDUSTRIESOF CENTRAL FLORIDA INC is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing sales transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The role is essential in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers while supporting the company's mission to provide job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs. Key Responsibilities: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases. Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies as necessary. Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise. Provide information about store policies, promotions, and services. Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and objectives. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and security measures. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance job performance.
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred. Experience handling cash transactions and operating a cash register is an advantage. Required Skills and Abilities: Strong numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with customers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving merchandise. Dependability and punctuality are essential for maintaining store operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
