The Retail Growth & Development team within Amazon"s Worldwide Grocery Real Estate organization is looking for a talented Store Designer to join their team. We are an exciting, fast-moving business unit, where everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. You are the right person for this job if you are a creative problem solver with curiosity and drive for learning and a passion for customers. You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently drive multiple projects throughout all phases of design, permitting and construction administration. We are looking for people who want to join an ambitious, innovative and customer obsessed program.

Key job responsibilities

  • Solutions oriented, proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an "all hands-on deck" approach.
  • Translate brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way.
  • Work across a large portfolio and multiple banners with a diverse set of programs.
  • Manage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners.
  • Adapt site specific conditions metrics and standards to store designs.
  • Build data driven scope of work with internal stake holders, focused on servicing operating stores.
  • Develop FF&E and Décor packages.
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders in the development and production of comprehensive design development packages.
  • Create presentation packages to communicate design with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Drive and create Schematic Design Packages.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts.
  • Manage consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle.
  • Provide Construction Administrative support as needed.
  • Archive completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings.
  • Obtain landlord approvals per lease requirements.
  • Review and approves submittals and shop drawings .
  • Demonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends
  • Communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills .
  • Work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment.
