Job Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for assisting in the administrative, operational, and merchandising functions of the store, with the primary objective of meeting sales and profit plans. The Store Manager (SM) must ensure that customer service is prioritized over all other tasks. The SM will be responsible for overseeing the completion of all store and warehouse tasks and directives. In the absence of the Assistant Store Manager (ASM), the SM will oversee

all ASM duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of the Assistant Store Manager and Warehouse Manager.

  • Review weekly timesheets for accuracy, review employee submissions and updates as needed; approve timesheets by required timeline

  • Conduct one-on-one meetings (weekly), scheduled conversations, and annual performance reviews with direct reports by required timeline

  • Attend mandatory Manager's Learning Collaborative trainings

  • Partner with People Operations to:

  • Develop a learning plan for employee development goals to provide tools needed to excel in their position

  • Implement and follow a process to address performance issues as they arise

  • Prepare a comprehensive onboarding process for each specific position for all new hires

  • Address serious issues that may require interventions or investigations

  • Develop and monitor departmental and program/project operating budgets, costs and schedules

  • Supervise, lead, coach, and use best management practices to improve staff performance

  • Support and model the identified vision, values, and behaviors of the organization

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create a work environment that is positive and productive
  • Manage store staffing along with completing the store and warehouse schedules
  • Conduct or manage interviews for open store staff positions
  • Order new merchandise using the appropriate order form and ensure that new item categories remain in stock
  • Ensure that all new merchandise is received correctly and properly input into the system
  • Ensure all store projects and directives are completed on time and communicate completion with the Director of Retail Operations
  • Order supplies for both the store and warehouse
  • Act as point person for all store tasks and projects
  • Ensure proper onboarding of all Revivals new hires
  • Ensure the staff has reviewed and understands all Best Practice procedures
  • Ensure all goals and objectives are met relative to store budget
  • Manage all aspects of donated merchandise to include receiving donations, processing,pricing, and display
  • Give weekly sales and progress reports to the Director of Retail Operations
  • Maintain standards of quality and cleanliness throughout the store
  • Monitor and sign all related staff and volunteer timecards, vacation, and sick leave requests for your direct area of supervision
  • Ensure (and conduct when necessary) cross training of staff as appropriate
  • Ensure appropriate training of all new personnel and volunteers and participate in the interview process
  • Set up store displays as assigned
  • Assist customers with sales and questions
  • Move merchandise from warehouse to sales floor and vice versa
  • Assemble furniture when needed
  • Always maintain a safe work environment
  • Conduct weekly and/or monthly huddles to follow up
  • Responsible for the security of the building as it relates to opening, closing, and ensuring doors are locked and alarms are set
  • Responsible for reacting to alarm calls from the security monitoring company even when these calls come after normal working hours
  • Responsible for handling any alarm issues to their resolution. Involve Director of Retail Operations as needed
  • Responsible for the security of the cash office, ensuring the safe is always locked and the cash office door is locked when no one is in the office
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes opening/closing store, weekends and holidays
  • High level of knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based email application
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and team-oriented skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Self-starting, self-motivating mind-set
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Basic mathematical skills include adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and calculating percentages
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of two years of prior retail experience
  • Minimum of two years of prior supervisory experience, preferably in a retail setting
  • Experience/knowledge of thrift store environment, preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • This position is at a Revival Store
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Operates in a store setting at times and requires constant times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talking
  • Potential exposure to hazard materials, irritants and allergens and noise
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold
