Position: BigFoot Java Barista Manager

Job Summary: BigFoot Java Barista Manager main responsibility is as a Barista and secondly you will help with administrative oversite of the location.

Barista Manager Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Barista

• Ensure that the store has trained Barista's working each shift and fill in or cover all shifts that are not covered

• Provide leadership for the baristas through 'being the example' and providing training as needed.

• Follow set building, health, and BFJ culture standards; always remaining compliant in all areas.

• Create a platform for involving and inspiring all employees to succeed in everything they do.

• Ensure that BFJ has the right people doing the right things in the right way to deliver a legendary experience for every customer.

• Oversee and be responsible for all the employees at your BFJ: training, coaching etc.

• Ensure your BFJ is prepared to serve customers each day and that it meets all quality standards.

• Presents oneself in a professional manner, be in proper dress attire and wear the approved uniform.

• Maintain good business practices as outlined by BigFoot Java standards.

• Lead, inspire, and develop each member of the crew to achieve our mission.

• Maintains staff.

• Continuous training of employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment.

• Maintains and clean, well-stocked and orderly work environment.

• Place all orders for supplies to make sure the store is stocked completely.

• Ensure all money is accounted for and that all products are being rung in properly.

• Hold monthly store meetings and monthly safety meetings.

• Communicate, teach, and prepare the Barista's of all upcoming monthly specials and promotions.

• Communicate with your District Manager and/or Operations Manager and assist in identifying and remedying problems deserving attention and store maintenance issues.

• Attend all mandatory meetings.

• Know your resources and adhere to all company policies and procedures as laid out in the Employee Handbook.

• Follow and Enforces food safety regulations ack as and appoint a 'PIC' for each shift.

• Ensures a safe, secure, and legal work environment.

• Enforces local, state, and federal labor and employment laws.

• Coordinate Scheduling-Shifts, meal periods & rest periods, time-off, and coverage. (Barista Managers must be available to cover any shift per business needs or in the event staff cannot cover).

• Communicates job and performance expectations in addition to delegation of job duties.

• Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards along with quick service expectations.

• Escalate customer and employee complaints to the District Manager to resolve quality and customer service complaints if you cannot resolve the complaint.

• Check all daily paperwork and fill out spreadsheets. Report all problems immediately to your supervisor/ DM.

• Have all paperwork available for the DM to pick up weekly including invoices, bills, safe pick up slips and deposits. Plan a monthly visit to the office to go over new ideas and meet with management and pick up any needed items.

• Communication daily with the District Manager.

• Available for on-call issues outside of normal scheduled shift hours.

• Working as a Barista for a minimum of five (5) days a week and six (6) hour shifts each day.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Certified Food Protection Manager Certification (Can schedule and receive once hired)

• 5 years customer service experience required.

• 2 years of management experience required.

• Experience in JIT inventory management.

• Ability to lead a team.

• Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, along with a rotating schedule.

• Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.

• Exceptional listening and communication skills.

• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.

• Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.

• Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to read and speak English proficiently.

• Strong ability to multi-task.

• Strong basic mathematical skills.

• Ability to solve problems quickly.

• Ability to follow directions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for 8 hours or more per shift.

• Repetitive motions.

• Ability to bend, stoop or kneel as needed.

• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds at times.

• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.

• Use of hand dexterity for writing, grabbing, pulling, twisting, shaking

• Cleaning and restocking work areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.

• Exposure to semi-loud noises due to proximity to operating roads, and drive thru lanes at stores along with equipment sounds.

Job and Benefit Information:

• 90-day probationary period.

• 90-day probationary review to go over your performance.

• Minimum of two-week training period at multiple locations.

• Full-time position requiring 35 hours or more per week. 30 hours as a regular Barista and 5 hours doing administrative duties.

• Salary Non-Exempt starting at $34,800-$40,800 per year

• PTO accrued at .0333 per hour. (Averages about 65 hrs. per year)

• 401 (K) Eligibility after 90 days. (If offered at that location)

• Medical Eligibility after 90 days. (Employer 60/Employee 40) (If offered at that location)
