Position Overview
As a Store Sales Associate I, you will help create a positive shopping and donating experience for our customers while supporting daily store operations. This role focuses on customer service, cashiering, merchandising, donation support, and store upkeep.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide friendly, respectful customer service while representing The Salvation Army's mission
- Greet and assist shoppers and donors
- Process transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system
- Handle cash and credit transactions following TSA cash-handling policies
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Open, close, and balance cash drawers as assigned
- Stock merchandise, straighten racks, and maintain sales floor organization
- Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and replenished
- Follow all policies regarding the pricing and sale of donated goods
Teamwork & Scheduling
- Work collaboratively with team members and store leadership
- Support store productivity benchmarks and sales goals
- Maintain availability for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or currently pursuing one
- Retail, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
Skills & Physical Requirements
- Basic computer and cash-handling skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
- Comfortable working in an environment that may be dusty or experience temperature changes
