Storeroom Clerk - NS (Nutrition Services

Full-time, Day Shift, Start times may vary from 3:30 AM to 8:00 AM. No weekends, but holiday rotation required.

Purpose:

Receives all supplies and equipment for the Department. Checks quality, quantity, weight, and other specifications to ensure compliance with purchase orders. Transports supplies to storage areas, fills and delivers requisitioned items, and organizes and maintains storage areas in a neat and sanitary condition.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives, inspects, and verifies quantity and quality of all food supplies in accordance with specifications on order sheets. Adheres to receiving guidelines.

  • Completes white sheets to reflect what was delivered accurately. Advises Supervisory staff of any suspected deviations or variations.

  • Delivers patient supplies to floor kitchens and gets forms signed. Completes Patient Floor Stock Check Sheet and reports to supervisor any discrepancies.

  • In the absence of the Senior Storeroom Worker, is responsible for: a submitting orders to vendors for donuts, milk, ice cream, fruit ice, produce, soda, and bread. b responsible for transporting supplies to the Department storage area.

  • Responsible for checking storage areas for cleanliness and proper temperature. Responsible for checking and initial weekly cleaning sheets. Obtains supervisor's signature monthly.

  • Reports to the supervisory staff any damaged supplies that don't meet specifications.

  • Conducts weekly physical inventory of all food supplies. Assists in conducting annual inventory.

  • Assures temperature records are appropriately documented and reports discretion to supervisor. Temperatures are properly recorded. Deviations are reported to supervisors immediately.

  • Fills requisitions and delivers requisitioned items to the kitchen and cafeteria areas promptly.

  • Performs minor Department maintenance, assembling new equipment, shelving, etc.

  • Receives, cleans, and repacks produce when delivered.

  • Informs Supervisory staff of over- or undersupply of stock items. Completes the weekly shortage sheet in the absence of the Senior Storeroom Worker. All special item orders are channeled through the Supervisory staff to check specifications.

  • Responsible for the sanitary conditions of all dry storage areas, all walk-in coolers and freezers, the produce room, and the loading dock area as assigned.

  • Follows correct procedure when receiving items from purchasing. Checks items in, initials the tracking form, and delivers

  • Completes weekly supply order utilizing the Lawson System for items from Materials Management.

  • Transports all supplies to the storage area promptly and adheres to the priority list.

  • Responsible for picking up needed items from local vendors when required.

  • Education and Formal Training Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Experience Required:

  • Institutional, food service, or relevant storeroom experience required. Computer Skills.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Driver's License
  • Act 34
