Job Description

Position

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will support the women's health business unit (WHBU) and focus on the growth ambitions related to WH portfolio, with focus on contraception, specifically long-acting reversible contraception (LARC). This leadership role will focus on Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) customers and will be responsible for leading top-down IDN initiatives related to women's health, contraception, and family planning.

The SAM collaborates with Regional Directors, Market Access Leads, Regional Managers, Clinical Account Specialists (CAS), Clinical Training Program – Field Specialists, and Medical Science Liaisons to develop and implement account strategies related to systemwide contraception and family planning initiatives.  Responsibilities include engaging with senior account stakeholders, including C/D - suite leaders (for example Chief Medical Officers, WH Service Line Leaders, Operational and Service Line leadership, Procurement and Supply Chain Decision Makers, Pharmacy Leads) to drive portfolio growth. Furthermore, the SAM will lead contracting discussions/negotiations, comprehensive counseling efforts and other LARC initiatives with Organized customers in collaboration with the Market Access Team and the National Sales Leadership Team, in alignment with current WHBU strategy.

Responsibilities

  • IDN Relationship Development: Identify key stakeholders (for example, Medical Director, C Suite, etc.) within assigned accounts and build relationships with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), optimizing in-person engagements.

  • Contracting Strategy: Identify contracting opportunities for assigned accounts. Lead the development and execution of contracting strategies and negotiations with assigned accounts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

  • Account Planning: Demonstrate strategic thinking by understanding customer priorities and developing and maintaining comprehensive account plans for all designated assigned accounts. Conduct regular business reviews with key customers to assess performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with account team members and regional managers to align regional objectives and IDN strategies. Demonstrate an enterprise mindset by collaborating with cross functional stakeholders, supporting colleagues facing challenges, and adopting new capabilities.

  • Consultative Sales: Act as a consultative partner to IDN and/or organized customer accounts to identify account goals and create long-term value through tailored solutions. Work with customers to assess and educate on category best practices.

  • Policy and Social Engagement: Maintain clear understanding and expertise of state/local/advocacy group and society dynamics, challenges, and opportunities, and their impact on assigned accounts.

  • Sales Performance: Responsible for growth and performance of assigned accounts/IDNs/organized customers in compliance with all field policies.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic account management, preferably within the healthcare industry.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct cost analysis and develop quality initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Expertise in contracting and negotiations, with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial agreements.

  • Location: Located within territory and near major airport (75% Travel Required)

  • IDN Account Management Experience: Proven track record in managing Integrated Delivery Networks.

  • Executive Presence: Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and engage senior-level stakeholders. Proactive self-starter.

  • Team Leadership: Experience in leading and collaborating with internal account team members.

  • Consultative Approach: Ability to take a consultative approach to sales, identifying customer goals and creating value through tailored solutions.

  • KOL Development: Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the assigned IDNs.

  • Compliance Acumen: Strong understanding of compliance-related concepts including the laws and regulations that govern sales activities.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

  • Women's Health Experience: Previous experience within women’s health.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$138,200.00 - $234,900.00
