KOIN 6 and Portland's CW is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to help lead the growth of our digital and cross-platform advertising business in the Portland, OR market. This is a sales-focused, consultative leadership role for someone who understands that successful digital selling is about more than presenting products. The Strategic Account Manager will partner closely with Account Executives, Sales Managers, and clients to uncover business challenges, develop compelling marketing strategies, and build solutions that drive measurable results. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator, curious problem solver, and confident sales partner who can help transform complex digital marketing opportunities into simple, compelling solutions for local businesses. You will serve as a digital and cross-platform subject matter expert, helping the sales team identify opportunities, strengthen client relationships, win new business, and grow existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Digital Revenue Growth
• Partner with Account Executives and Sales Managers to identify, develop, and close digital and cross-platform revenue opportunities.
• Develop strategies to grow both new and existing digital business.
• Identify high-potential accounts and verticals and create targeted sales strategies to penetrate those opportunities.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations as a strategic marketing and digital subject matter expert.
• Help sales teams increase the value of client relationships by expanding marketing solutions beyond traditional television.
• Become a Strategic Sales Partner
• Work alongside Account Executives throughout the sales process-from prospecting and discovery through presentation, closing, and campaign strategy.
• Help sellers prepare for meetings through research, business intelligence, and development of a clear client-focused point of view.
• Coach and collaborate with sellers on digital strategy, positioning, objection handling, and solution development.
• Bring creativity and a challenger-style, consultative approach to client conversations.
• Help simplify complex digital marketing concepts and translate them into clear business outcomes.
• Develop Client-Centric Marketing Solutions
• Conduct research to understand a client's business, competitive environment, target audience, and marketing objectives.
• Ask thoughtful questions to uncover client needs and opportunities rather than relying on a product-first sales approach.
• Develop customized marketing strategies designed to increase awareness, generate leads, drive conversions, and grow market share.
• Present recommendations with a focus on business outcomes, audience strategy, measurement, and return on investment.
• Build trusted relationships with local businesses and advertising agencies by serving as a marketing resource and strategic advisor.
• Lead Digital Sales Enablement
• Keep the sales organization informed about new products, capabilities, industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities.

What We're Looking For

• The ideal candidate will have:
• Proven experience in digital advertising, media sales, marketing, advertising technology, or a related field.
• Strong consultative and solution-based sales skills.
• A demonstrated ability to develop relationships with clients and uncover business needs.
• Experience presenting marketing strategies and recommendations to business owners, executives, and/or advertising agencies.
• A strong understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem and current marketing trends.
• The ability to translate complex marketing concepts, data, and technology into simple business solutions.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, competitive, and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to understand how marketing impacts revenue and growth.
• The ability to collaborate effectively with salespeople while also taking ownership of revenue opportunities.
• A willingness to continually learn and adapt in a rapidly changing media and advertising landscape.
