Position Summary
Albright College seeks a creative, detail-oriented communications professional to serve as Strategic Communications Coordinator within the Marketing Department. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, this individual will write, edit, and coordinate institutional communications, including press releases, campus announcements, website content, executive messages, and marketing materials. Working collaboratively with departments across campus, the Coordinator will gather information and transform it into clear, engaging communications that support College priorities. This position is designed for someone who embraces artificial intelligence as a writing partner and can use AI to rapidly produce a high volume of high-quality communications while applying sound judgment, editing, and fact-checking to ensure every piece reflects Albright College's voice and standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Write and edit press releases, campus announcements, website content, executive messages, speeches, talking points, email communications, and other marketing materials.
- Gather information from departments across campus and transform it into compelling communications.
- Coordinate the timely distribution of institutional communications to internal and external audiences.
- Assist with media relations by preparing press releases, responding to requests, and maintaining media contact lists.
- Develop communications for alumni, donors, families, community partners, and prospective students.
- Maintain communication calendars, project timelines, and archives.
- Ensure all communications reflect Albright College's brand, voice, and editorial standards.
- Use artificial intelligence extensively to draft, revise, summarize, and repurpose written communications, enabling the rapid production of a large volume of high-quality content while ensuring accuracy, factual integrity, and appropriate human review.
- Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and senior leaders on communication projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- One to three years of professional communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations experience. Strong internship experience may be considered.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use artificial intelligence to produce high-quality written content quickly and efficiently while maintaining editorial judgment, accuracy, and institutional voice.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common web and email platforms.
