Job Title: Strategic Customer Support Consultant
Job Description
The Strategic Customer Support Consultant leads the design and implementation of supply chain and ordering strategies for highly strategic customer accounts. This role operates at the intersection of customer supply chain priorities, internal operational excellence, and technological innovation. You act as a bridge between complex technical solutions and customers' operational realities, transforming business requirements into proactive, market-leading supply chain solutions. You coordinate and oversee material supply for large accounts, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure a superior end-to-end customer experience from order placement through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of supply chain and ordering strategies for strategic customer accounts.
- Coordinate, monitor, and maintain oversight of material supply for large customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Balance the voice of the customer with internal supply chain objectives to deliver a market-leading customer experience.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that create value-added solutions.
- Build strong internal and external partnerships to support supply chain objectives, strategy, and performance measures.
- Provide direct order-to-invoice support, partnering with strategic customers to facilitate solutions that ensure operational excellence from order placement to delivery.
- Represent the large customer supply team in external, customer-facing opportunities and discussions.
- Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives, including optimizing customer journey touchpoints and enhancing overall service quality.
- Develop or assist in the creation of departmental protocols, ensuring consistency and best practices across processes.
- Assist in training and mentoring support staff to build capability and ensure high-quality support for strategic accounts.
- Translate business processes into strategic value stream opportunities that directly improve the customer experience.
- Execute and manage support functions and databases, including Customer by Demand reports, open order tracking, SAP, and other relevant systems.
- Prepare and execute reporting to support requests for information regarding customer performance, volume, inventory, and other key metrics.
- Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within supply chain specialization areas such as supply planning, demand planning, order management, warehousing, or transportation.
- Maintain a high level of operational oversight and process ownership for day-to-day activities, even without direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Leverage AI, automation, and continuous improvement methods, where applicable, to enhance supply chain and customer support processes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant business experience.
- Experience with supply chain functions such as supply planning, demand planning, order management, warehousing, or transportation.
- Strong customer service orientation with experience supporting large or strategic accounts.
- Strong computer and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
- Experience working with SAP applications.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including presentation skills.
- Demonstrated collaborative problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong organization and planning skills, including basic project management capabilities.
- Knowledge of materials management and logistics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Direct customer-facing experience in a consulting, advisory, or strategic support role (preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience or working knowledge of AI, automation, and continuous improvement consulting is highly preferred.
- Experience with Smartsheet or similar collaborative work management tools.
- Previous experience in similar large-scale supply chain or customer support environments is a plus.
- Experience with demand planning, order entry, order processing, and purchase order management.
- Prior experience with the specific systems and processes used in complex, global supply chains is advantageous.
Work Environment
This position is based on-site at a facility in Indianapolis, with a hybrid work schedule. The standard work hours follow a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role typically follows a hybrid model with three days on site and two days remote each week. You will work in a professional office environment that relies heavily on digital tools and enterprise systems, including SAP, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and other reporting and database tools. The work involves frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, as well as focused individual work on analysis, reporting, and process improvement. Dress expectations align with a professional office setting when on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
