My name is Shannon, and I am a Recruiter with The Fountain Group.  We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Strategic Customer Support Consultant for a prominent client of ours.  This position is located in ­­Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote). Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

Duration: 1 year

Pay: $40/hr.

Our client is seeking a Strategic Customer Support Consultant to serve as the primary liaison between strategic customers and internal supply chain operations. This role is responsible for designing and implementing customer-focused supply chain strategies while driving operational excellence, process improvements, and continuous innovation.

The ideal candidate has experience across multiple supply chain functions, enjoys partnering directly with customers, and is comfortable leveraging technology, automation, and AI to improve business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with strategic customers to develop and execute supply chain and ordering strategies.
  • Coordinate and oversee material supply for large customer accounts.
  • Support end-to-end order-to-invoice processes, ensuring timely and efficient order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve supply chain issues and improve customer experience.
  • Analyze customer performance, inventory, demand, and operational metrics through reporting and data analysis.
  • Utilize SAP and other systems to manage open orders, customer demand reports, and operational data.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices across supply chain processes.
  • Translate customer business needs into strategic supply chain solutions.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on automation, AI, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with developing departmental procedures and support training initiatives as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more supply chain functions, including:
    • Supply Planning
    • Demand Planning
    • Order Management
    • Warehousing
    • Transportation
  • Experience supporting customers, vendors, or suppliers in a customer-facing environment.
  • Consulting, advisory, or strategic customer support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of materials management and logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Google Workspace
  • SAP (strongly preferred)
  • Smartsheet (preferred)
  • Experience using AI tools, automation platforms, or continuous improvement methodologies is highly preferred.
