HealthPartners is hiring a Strategic Finance Senior Director. This role serves as a key strategic partner to the CFO and HealthPartners leadership team, providing oversight of enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and leading system-wide strategic financial initiatives. This role integrates financial insight across the health plan and care group to drive decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and support long-term organizational sustainability.

This leader is responsible for consolidating enterprise financial plans and forecasts, improving financial processes and systems, enhancing reporting capabilities, and ensuring clear, actionable communication of financial performance. The role operates in a highly matrixed environment, partnering across finance, operations, and executive leadership to align financial strategy with organizational goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

  • 10+ years progressive finance and leadership experience, preferably in large healthcare systems or payer-provider organizations

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep expertise in FP&A, financial modeling, and healthcare finance

  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in complex environments

  • Advanced knowledge of budgeting systems and financial reporting tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • MBA

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience supporting both health plan and care delivery financial operations

  • Experience leading enterprise system implementations or transformations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Includes duties that represent 10% or more of the role's time and focus)

  • Lead Enterprise FP&A Function (25%)
  • Oversee consolidated forecasting across health plan and care group
  • Establish FP&A calendar, governance, and processes
  • Standardize forecasting methodologies and assumptions
  • Align forecasting with accounting and operational finance
  1. Enterprise Financial Reporting & Executive Communication (20%)
  • Present financial results (actuals and forecasts) to CFO and leadership team
  • Develop executive, Board, and stakeholder presentations
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Initiatives (20%)
  • Lead organization-wide strategic financial initiatives
  • Provide scenario modeling and decision support
  • Partner with senior leaders on growth, margin, and investment strategies
  1. Long Range Financial Planning (10%)
  • Oversee development and consolidation of long-range models
  • Establish cadence and governance for long-term planning
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise strategy
  1. Cash Flow & Capital Planning Oversight (15%)
  • Lead enterprise cash flow forecasting
  • Oversee annual capital planning process
  • Partner with capital leadership on investment prioritization
  • Support liquidity and funding decisions
  1. Financial Systems, Reporting & FP&A Transformation (10%)
  • Enhance financial planning systems and tools
  • Expand SG&A reporting and enterprise analytics
  • Drive process improvements and automation
