    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor"s degree in Energy Policy, Engineering, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

    • 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.

    • 7 years of experience in energy industry negotiations, agreement structuring, or energy regulatory strategy.

    • 5 years of experience developing and executing market, policy, or regulatory engagement strategies within the U.S. energy sector.

    • 3 years of experience managing cross-functional infrastructure or energy supply projects with external stakeholders.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience in Oklahoma energy market development, Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) regulatory rate design and policy, power supply structuring, and electric utility policy for industrial-scale projects.
    • Experience with power generation, transmission, and distribution; Oklahoma electric utilities (OG&E, PSO, GRDA) and stakeholders, SPP RTO market rules, decision-making forums, and stakeholders; and other related energy policy areas and governance forums.
    • Experience negotiating managing utility agreements and energy-related regulations and policy, including clean energy initiatives.
    • Ability to comfortably work in ambiguous, collaborative, and fast-paced environments.

    Google"s infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google"s products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google"s future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google"s infrastructure growth. You"ll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.

    The Energy amd Power team secures low-cost, clean, and reliable power for Google's global footprint. Focused on Oklahoma and the U.S. Central region, this role will design energy regulatory, utility, and market engagement strategies to support scalable data center growth and meet 24/7 carbon-free energy goals.

    As an Energy Market Development Strategic Negotiator lead for Oklahoma, you will combine deep knowledge of Oklahoma electricity markets, OCC regulatory processes, and SPP grid dynamics with technology industry savvy to ensure robust power supply for our operations. You will lead energy regulatory advocacy before the OCC, negotiate rate designs and supply agreements with Oklahoma utilities, partner with regional stakeholders, and drive energy regulatory and policy strategy.

    US: $176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

    Responsibilities

    • Lead forward-looking energy policy, regulatory framework design, and market structure reform before the OCC and regional energy bodies. Structure and negotiate innovative utility tariffs, large-load agreements, and advanced clean energy supply mechanisms alongside electric utilities, power suppliers, and state stakeholders to enable scalable infrastructure growth.
    • Serve as an energy regulatory and policy liaison between Oklahoma utilities, state regulators, and internal and external stakeholders. Develop and work on regional and state market strategy for long-term energy policy and reform.
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, define, and pursue new Oklahoma energy supply and regulatory initiatives necessary to meet Google"s ongoing data center needs, including the procurement of clean power and utility capacity for existing and new sites.
