About the Job: The Strategic Sales Manager will be responsible for growing existing customer relationships while developing new business opportunities across commercial print, packaging, labeling, direct mail, and related production solutions. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, taking the time to understand their operations, identify challenges, and recommend solutions that create measurable value.

Rather than simply selling products, this role focuses on building long-term partnerships and delivering the right solution; whether produced internally or through the company's established network of strategic manufacturing partners. The successful candidate will inherit established customer relationships while expanding existing business and identifying new opportunities for growth.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Grow existing strategic customer accounts while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers by understanding their operations, business objectives, and production challenges.
  • Identify opportunities across commercial print, packaging, labeling, direct mail, and related solutions that improve customer efficiency, quality, or cost.
  • Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline while executing strategies that support sustainable revenue growth.
  • Lead customer meetings, present recommendations, negotiate agreements, and oversee the customer relationship from initial opportunity through implementation.
  • Coordinate projects from concept through commercialization by partnering with estimating, customer service, production, operations, finance, suppliers, and other internal resources.
  • Prepare quotations, review pricing and gross margins, and recommend solutions that balance customer value with profitable growth.
  • Monitor account performance, sales forecasts, and business metrics while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging products that create additional value for customers.


Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of sales, business development, or strategic account management experience within commercial print, packaging, labeling, direct mail, or a related manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated success growing existing customer relationships while developing new business.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to identify customer challenges and recommend creative business solutions.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and coordinating projects across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with experience preparing quotations, reviewing pricing, and managing profitable customer growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience selling one or more of the following is preferred:
  • Commercial print
  • Pressure-sensitive labels
  • Flexible packaging
  • Folding cartons
  • Direct mail
  • Food or consumer packaged goods



Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 base salary plus performance-based incentive compensation.


Travel: Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory is expected. The amount of travel will vary based on customer needs and business priorities.


Work Style: Primarily onsite in Rochester, NY is preferred. Hybrid flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
